About Live counter
A live counter (or live station) is a wedding catering setup where food is freshly cooked or assembled in front of guests by a dedicated chef. Common live counter types:
- Chaat counter — gol gappa, pani puri, bhel, dahi vada, papdi chaat
- Dosa / Idli counter — fresh dosas with multiple chutneys
- Pasta counter — Western pasta with choice of sauce
- Live tandoor — kebabs and tandoori bread cooked on the spot
- Sushi / Asian counter — premium add-on
- Pani puri counter — high crowd-puller, photo-worthy
- Ice cream / kulfi counter — dessert station
- Mocktail bar — fresh mixology in front of guests
Each live counter typically adds ₹150-500/plate to the catering cost. Premium weddings have 4-7 live counters distributed around the dining area to reduce queue concentration and add visual interest.
