About Per-plate pricing

Per-plate pricing is the per-guest catering cost at Indian wedding venues. It's the dominant pricing model — most venues quote per-plate and waive hall hire when catering meets a minimum guest count.

Indian per-plate prices in 2026:

  • Budget: ₹600–₹1,200/plate (neighborhood halls, restaurant private dining)
  • Mid-tier: ₹1,200–₹2,000/plate (most-booked range)
  • Premium: ₹2,000–₹4,000/plate (palace-style halls, 5-star hotels)
  • Top-tier: ₹4,000+/plate (Leela, Taj, Oberoi flagship properties)

Non-vegetarian menus add ₹200–₹500 over the veg rate at most venues. Children below 5 are typically free; ages 5–12 are charged at 50%. Live counters (chaat, dosa, ice cream) add ₹150–400/plate.

Per-plate is BEFORE GST (18%) and service charge (5–10%). Always ask for the all-inclusive final per-plate.
